As much as this goes without saying, the redone versions are crap, especially Return of the Jedi. Stupid ending, stupid musical bit in Jabba’s Palace, uggh. A New Hope’s additional bits are awful, as well.
However, I think Empire’s new stuff is great. Maybe this was intentional, to emphasize how it’s the best of the originals. It’s a shame they didn’t put in the abandoned scene where C3P0 switches signs on some doors, and leads some Stormtroopers into a Wampa holding cell.
A few years ago during my travels I ran into a fellow named LubDob. We met out in the woods at a blues festival. We got to talking and enjoyed each other’s company for the weekend. When we about to go our separate ways he told me he was an Ewok shaman. He gave me a gift. He said it would ward off evil spirits. It has. However, with this new blog, I no longer require my ghost rattle. Now I only need to view the contents of this adorkable goodness!

Congratulations on the new site, Mandy. And Eric. And I happen to like the Special Editions, btw. This might be because I was still a kid when they came out, but that’s the point, isn’t it? Star Wars is for kids, and those who embrace their inner child.
